NFL Recap: Broncos Stage Fourth-Quarter Comeback Against Eagles, Ravens Suffer Historic Home Defeat

Broncos Overcome Eagles in Thrilling Finish

Bo Nix connected with a short touchdown pass and JK Dobbins contributed a two-yard ground touchdown in the fourth quarter as the Broncos erased a 14-point deficit to deliver the Philadelphia Eagles their initial defeat of the campaign. The Broncos deflected the Eagles quarterback's final attempt on the game's concluding play to hand the reigning title holders to just their second loss in their previous 22 outings. Denver (three wins and two losses) caught a huge break in their comeback when the Eagles had a late fourth-down conversion nullified on a formation infraction called on running back Saquon Barkley.

Houston Texans 44–10 Baltimore Ravens

CJ Stroud threw for 244 yards and four scoring throws, and the Texans (2-3) strolled to a 44-10 win over a depleted Baltimore team, equaling both the most lopsided road win in Texans' history and the worst home defeat in Baltimore's annals. The Ravens (one win and four losses) were missing star signal-caller Jackson, and that was not their only problem. Key defenders Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey all were absent, and the Ravens already were weakened on defense because of a cervical issue that concluded the defensive lineman's season. Baltimore were also without All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard and offensive lineman Stanley.

Colts Rout Raiders in One-Sided Affair

Indianapolis' running back ran for three touchdowns and a two-point conversion, and the quarterback passed for two scoring throws as the Indianapolis Colts overwhelmed the Raiders. This decisive advantage was Indianapolis' largest since the 2013 season. Jones completed 20 of 29 for 212 yards and improved to four wins and one loss as the starting quarterback this season, surpassing his combined victory total over the past two seasons with the New York Giants. The running back carried 17 attempts for 66 yards and grabbed three receptions for 20 receiving yards. The Colts converted a blocked punt, two interceptions and a turnover on downs into touchdowns. The Raiders dropped to 4-1.

Cowboys Soar Past Jets in High-Scoring Game

Dak Prescott threw four scoring throws, guiding the Dallas Cowboys to a comfortable win over the New York Jets. The Cowboys put points on the board on two 90-yard drives in the second period, despite missing four starters on the blocking unit. The running back ran for 135 rushing yards and a touchdown and also hauled in a receiving touchdown. Dallas, now 2-2-1, bounced back from a 40-40 tie against Green Bay last week. The Jets remain winless at 0-5 in their new coach's inaugural year as head coach.

Minnesota Vikings 21–17 Cleveland Browns

Minnesota wideout Addison grabbed a 12-yard scoring reception from Carson Wentz with under half a minute left to give the Vikings victory over the Cleveland Browns at the UK venue. This methodical march gave the Vikings (3-2) a crucial victory on their overseas journey, which started with a narrow defeat to the Pittsburgh in Dublin last Sunday. It also spoiled Dillon Gabriel's first NFL start, as the Browns first-year player positioned his squad (1-4) in position to win by throwing two touchdown passes. Another first-year player Judkins rushed for 110 yards on 23 attempts. The quarterback overcame a shoulder injury that briefly sent him to the locker room and led two scoring drives in the latter half.

Miami Dolphins 24-27 Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young threw for two touchdowns and the running back ran for 206 yards and a score as the Panthers rallied past the Miami Dolphins in Charlotte. Young's quick throw to rookie tight end Mitchell Evans with under two minutes to play gave the Panthers (2-3) the lead for good as they equaled the biggest rally to secure victory in team history by erasing a 17-point hole. The QB had a poor start, but he ended up 19 completions on 30 attempts for 198 passing yards with an interception. Dowdle, replacing injured Chuba Hubbard, did his work on the run on 23 attempts, falling just short shy of the single-game franchise rushing record. Miami's Tua Tagovailoa completed 27 of 36 for 256 passing yards with three scores and Jaylen Waddle gained 110 receiving yards on six receptions and added a touchdown, but the Dolphins (one win and four losses) fell to 0-3 in away contests.

Saints Secure First Win Under New Coach

New Orleans' quarterback passed for a long touchdown to receiver Shaheed, defensive back Howden returned a fumble 86 yards for a score, and New Orleans defeated the turnover-prone Giants for the Saints' initial win under first-year head coach Moore. The QB secured his first victory in 11 professional starts, passing for 225 passing yards without a turnover. Giants rookie QB Dart, who won his debut last week, passed for 202 passing yards and two scores, but also turned the ball over three times. The Giants turned the ball over on five separate plays in all, with none worse than when the defender stripped running back Cam Skattebo, resulting in Howden's touchdown. Each squad are 1-4.
