Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – News

Skydance Paramount plans to initiate mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August worth $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance intending to reveal complete information via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Prior news stated that Paramount was looking to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

As of December 2024, Paramount retained nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
